The Characters page is your digital character sheet. Create, manage, and track everything about your D&D player characters — from ability scores to spell slots.
Creating a Character
The creation wizard walks you through a 4-step process:
- 1Race/Species & Background — Choose your character's ancestry and background. In 5.5e, ability bonuses come from your background (not race), and you can freely reassign them using the +2/+1 or +1/+1/+1 toggle.
- 2Class & Level — Pick your class (Fighter, Wizard, etc.) and starting level. You can optionally enable Multiclass to add a secondary class.
- 3Ability Scores — Choose between Standard Array, Point Buy, or 4d6 Drop Lowest. Racial/background bonuses are applied automatically.
- 4Summary & Confirm — Review your character's final stats, HP, spell slots, and proficiency bonus. Hit "Create Character" to save.
Editing a Character
Click any character card on the left to open their sheet, then tap the edit button in the header. The edit screen provides direct access to:
Multiclass
Enable multiclass during character creation (Step 2) or in the edit screen. When multiclassing:
- Each class has its own level — your Total Character Level is the sum of both
- Proficiency Bonus is based on total level
- Spell slots scale based on your caster levels, not total level
- The character card shows both classes, e.g. "Lvl 5 Fighter / Wizard"
HP Management
On the character sheet, you can directly apply Damage or Healing:
- 1Enter a number in the HP input field.
- 2Click "Damage" to subtract or "Heal" to restore (capped at max HP).
- 3HP changes sync to Combat Tracker if the character is linked.
Spells, Equipment & Notes
Use the tab bar at the top of the character sheet to switch between:
Skill & Save Rolls
Every skill and saving throw has a dice button. Click to instantly roll a d20 + modifier. Unproficient skills are still rollable— you just won't add your proficiency bonus. This matches the D&D rules where any character can attempt any skill check.
